With reference to the letter from this Department dated the 5th of February 1847 addressed to Mr Merivale, I am to request that you will move the Lords Commissioners to cause a Return, in continuation of Parliamentary Paper No 261 of 1847, of the Receipts and Expenditure : and I have therefore requested that the present draft might be prepared.

9.79.1675.

We have the honour to report that Returns of the Receipts and Expenditure of the Colony up to the latest period possible are being prepared and will be transmitted to this office. However, unless procured from the Board of Audit, they are not likely to comply with the terms of a Resolution of the House of Commons.
